چکیده

The size of stemflow infiltration areas around the boles trees is currently a topic interest and debate within hydrologic community. There gap in our knowledge many wooded ecosystems need for more than few studies that have examined directly. Hence, this field study was specifically undertaken to mitigate existing data by providing direct measurements from high stemflow-producing American beech (Fagus grandifolia Ehrh.) trees. Different rates (290, 72 31 L h?1) were simulated using dye-infused four determined measuring areal extent dye on soil surface. Our results revealed ranged 0.0035 0.0951 m2 tree?1. mean basal area funnelling ratio 46.5 ± 1.8, whereas ratios per unit areas, , between 32.0 258.4. Despite intentionally rates, chosen compensate capacities forest soils, these reinforce fact an extremely localized input natural forests. Thus, results, even if specific F. particular type, support growing body work indicating are usually <1 m2, often much smaller, Moreover, values provide further evidence inputs important development hot spots near-trunk soils.

All - Termination ( SCP )

We recently introduced the All-Termination(T ) problem: given a termination solver T and a function F , find every subset of the formal parameters to F whose consideration is sufficient to show, using T , that F terminates. These subsets can be harnessed by a theorem prover to locate and justify induction schemes, and are also useful for guiding rewriting heuristics and ensuring their terminati...

Impact of SCP-2/SCP-x gene ablation and dietary cholesterol on hepatic lipid accumulation.

While a high-cholesterol diet induces hepatic steatosis, the role of intracellular sterol carrier protein-2/sterol carrier protein-x (SCP-2/SCP-x) proteins is unknown. We hypothesized that ablating SCP-2/SCP-x [double knockout (DKO)] would impact hepatic lipids (cholesterol and cholesteryl ester), especially in high-cholesterol-fed mice. DKO did not alter food consumption, and body weight (BW) ...

SCP-2/SCP-x gene ablation alters lipid raft domains in primary cultured mouse hepatocytes.

Although reverse cholesterol transport from peripheral cell types is mediated through plasma membrane microdomains termed lipid rafts, almost nothing is known regarding the existence, protein/lipid composition, or structure of these putative domains in liver hepatocytes, cells responsible for the net removal of cholesterol from the body. Lipid rafts purified from hepatocyte plasma membranes by ...

Three-dimensional structure/function analysis of SCP-2-like2 reveals differences among SCP-2 family members.

Mosquito sterol carrier protein-2 (AeSCP-2) and sterol carrier protein-2-like2 (AeSCP-2L2) are members of the SCP-2 protein family with similar expression profiles in the mosquito life cycle. In an effort to understand how lipids can be transported by different SCP-2 proteins, the three-dimensional crystal structure of AeSCP-2L2 was solved at 1.7 A resolution. AeSCP-2L2 forms a dimer and binds ...

e-SCP-ECG+ Protocol: An Expansion on SCP-ECG Protocol for Health Telemonitoring—Pilot Implementation

Standard Communication Protocol for Computer-assisted Electrocardiography (SCP-ECG) provides standardized communication among different ECG devices and medical information systems. This paper extends the use of this protocol in order to be included in health monitoring systems. It introduces new sections into SCP-ECG structure for transferring data for positioning, allergies, and five additiona...
